Radifend is a fully encased, silicone-coated radioactive radiation shielding system used in the nuclear industry, defense, and non-destructive testing (NDT) fields. The system offers a unique method for protection against gamma and X-ray radiation in numerous different situations, available in standard and custom sizes, as well as molded forms.

Due to its low chlorine, fluorine, and sulfur content, it can be in contact with stainless steel surfaces.

The completely homogeneous shielding material guarantees comprehensive protection and cannot settle like traditional PVC bag solutions.
Heat and fire resistance
The material is fire-resistant and can be used in a wide temperature range (between −85°C and 200°C).

Technical specifications
Radifend sheets are available in various thicknesses. The 9.5 mm thick sheet has a shielding capacity equivalent to 3.3 mm lead for Cobalt 60 isotope and 3.2 mm lead equivalent for Caesium 137 isotope. The standard sheet size is
915×305×9.5 mm, weighing approximately 11.0 kg.
RadiFend PVC bag
The handling and application of Radifend shielding sheets is made even simpler and safer by a specially developed, reusable PVC bag.

The bag facilitates hanging the sheets and placing them around pipelines. The carrying handles make lifting and transporting the heavy sheets easier.
Quick installation
Thanks to the stainless steel lacing holes, the sheets can be quickly secured, reducing the radiation dose received during installation.

The bag features a full-length Velcro closure design, allowing the sheet to be safely placed over pipelines.
Protection and durability
The bag protects the more expensive shielding sheets from damage. In case of damage, only the bag needs to be replaced.

The bag can be easily cleaned and decontaminated, making it reusable multiple times.
